Our Trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Last week we went on our very first trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The trip was a great success and a lot of fun. The children behaved beautifully, and asked many good questions. We started the trip in the Herb Garden where we saw fresh herbs such as thyme, and tea leaves. Next we made our way over the the Conservatory where we looked at plants from three different climates. We saw a Cactus in the Desert Climate, Pomegranates in the Warm Climate, and Coffee Plants in the Tropical Climate. Next we went over the look at beautiful Bonsai  trees. As we walked through the gardens we saw a pool with live fish in it, and took lots of pictures. In the Japanese Gardens we saw beautiful orange and gold fish swimming in a pond. We saw Japanese architecture. Finally we made it over to the discovery area where the kids we able to have some free play time. We all came back really tired, but the children were still able to complete a small writing assignment where they wrote about their favorite part of the trip, and illustrated a picture. It was really a pleasure to take the First Grade on a trip. I can't wait for the next one.
Check out some amazing pictures below... :)

Thanks,
