Birthday's In First Grade ..

Dear Parents,

As many of you already know, celebrating Birthday's is a big deal in Mazel Day School. In First Grade we celebrate birthday's by making a BIG DEAL out of it. We usually bake a cake and decorate it. We have all the children make a special card for the birthday boy or girl. During the party we play games, give Brachot, and eat cake. Parents are always welcome to join in the fun.
First grade currently has a wishlist of goodies, such as educational games, and some really great books. If you wish to donate something to our class you can do so at the time of your child's birthday. Your child can make it a present to the class. I have posted the link to the first grade wishlist below.

Thank You,
Morah Gaby

Thank you...

Dear Parents,
I would like to thank all those parents who have already sent in the additional pencils and folders that I requested last week. There are still quite a few children that have not brought in the additional supplies. I would really appreciate it if these items could be sent in by the end of the week. Also please make sure that your children bring back to school all homework folders, workbooks, and notebooks each and every day. We use the workbooks in class too, and check the homework every day. Thank you so much for your continued support for our class and Mazel Day School.
                                                                                           Sincerely,
Morah Gaby

Show and Tell

Good news!!! Friday will be our designated show and tell day.  I will set aside time on Fridays for the children to have show and tell and share something meaningful that they have brought from home.

Getting Ready for Simchas Torah with Morah Mushky

Happy Birthday, Daniel P. :)

We had another great birthday celebration today. Daniel P. turned 6 today. The children made him birthday cards, gave him some beautiful brachot, and played a game. Afterwards they enjoyed some birthday cake. There were a lot of smiling faces today... :)

Reminder!

Dear Parents,

I hope that this note finds everyone well. First Grade is doing great and it is wonderful being their teacher.  It is really amazing to see fourteen faces smiling at me when I come into the classroom. At this time we find ourselves running low on pencils. I am asking you to please send in a package of pencils for the class. I will store them in my closet and give them out to the children as they need them. Also, please send in one more regular folder. The children will be keeping reading stories in them. Please remember to send in an uncut fruit for snack for your child every day.

I am happy to announce that our class will be going on their first class trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on October 25th, 2011.  We will be leaving by bus at around 9:30am and should be back at around 1:30pm. As always snacks will be provided and the children will eat lunch when we get back. Lastly, please be on the lookout for the First Grade Blog. I will be posting pictures, stories, and announcements.

Again, thank you for all your continued support and commitment to Mazel Day School. If you should have any questions or concerns please e-mail me at: morahgaby@mazeldayschool.com

Thank You,
Morah Gaby
