Important .. Please Read :)

Dear Parents,

Let me begin by wishing all of you a very happy, restful, and healthy Passover break. Since this a short week I will not be assigning any Homework.  The First Grade is getting an early start to their break. I would also like to apologize if your children come home a little dirty today. In Science we are learning about Solids, Liquids, & Gases. We are conducting a number of experiments to see how solids change to liquid and liquids to solids. Today’s experiment was to take cornstarch, water, and food coloring and see how the liquid changes. We ended up with goop! The kids had a great time, and a lot of hands of experience, but they got a little dirty.

Important:

In Writing Workshop we are going to be writing “All About Books.” Each child has chosen an animal they would like to write about. Unfortunately I do not have books about some of the animals that were picked. Therefore below I have made a list of each child’s name and the animal they have picked. I am asking that over the break you take your child to the Public Library, and choose 2-3 books on the specific animal, and have them bring it to school April 16th. You can also help them do some research on the internet. They will be using the books to learn and research their animal, and this will become an “All About Book.”  I thank you in advance for your continued support and consideration.
